DUI / DWI News: Police in Las Vegas out to stop DUI in new year

Posted on 29th December 2011 in DWI / DUI News

This weekend, three DUI vans will be stationed throughout the valley where officers can bring suspected drunk drivers to get processed before they are sent to jail. Metro say this is a more effective way of finding and apprehending people, especially on holiday weekends.

Authorities in Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Boulder City are working together, along with folks at Stop DUI who said locals can get into as much trouble as tourists when you mix drinking with driving.

"If we can get through the next three days and 14 hours without DUI fatalities, we would have been able to accomplish our holiday goals," said Stop DUI Director Sandy Heverly.
