DUI arrest Heather DeLong, Glen Mills in Pennsylvania dec 30 2011

Posted on 31st December 2011 in DWI / DUI Arrests, DWI / DUI News

Heather DeLong, 47, of Glen Mills admitted to police responders at the 12:57 p.m. crash that she was speeding and lost control of her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica before hitting the police cruiser that was parked in the median along the southbound lane. She also admitted to drinking wine earlier.

Trooper Chad Burgwald, 24, of the Avondale Barracks, was trapped in his vehicle with serious injuries.

Rescuers had to cut apart the police cruiser to remove Burgwald for airlift to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment.

A trooper at the barracks reported on Friday that Burgwald has multiple fractures to his pelvis, a broken collarbone and internal injuries as a result of the striking car impaling the cruiser by about 36 inches. The trooper added, however, that Burgwald is “conscious and alert.”

A tradgedy for all. I was wondering why
this defendant had no lawyer with her.
Is this usual ? A state young state trooper
nearly killed my husband years ago . He was
doing 90mph coming off the kennett
entrance on to rte 1. He went airborn
and crossed the median hitting my spous
head on. The young trooper died. My husband
survived. The first question asked of me in the
emer room by an angry trooper? How much
did my husband drink.?? The bloodwork
from the trooper was lost .
